This Picture

This is just a little post to say that I've changed my font for Diana-- she was seriously offended by it...sorry baby Di, I hope this is more legible. And this picture I put on the top of my blog is one I have ALWAYS loved because i could almost swear it is really one that is on my parents' neighbour's yard. We used to play on it for hours until they cut off the branch that we used as a swing. I'm serious--it always makes me think it is the same tree. I even one day took a picture of it (when I was still in high school) to compare the photos. I've lost the picture, but I think I'll ask my mother to take another one and email it to me so we can compare. That would be cool I think....

And now, here is the picture of the tree from Magrath...
So, it is missing all the hoar frost and the background is a soccer net and someone else's house, but, perhaps 50 years ago (or whenever Mr. Adams lived) this tree could have been one of his...Perhaps one day I'll catch a photo of it with the frost. Anyway, that's really all.

Hey Jen,

Love the tree photo! Ansel Adams is my all time favorite photographer and I have a copy of this photograph in one of his books (Ansel Adams 400 Photographs). This photo was taken just off the park road near El Capitan Meadow in Yosemite Valley in 1948. Ansel Adams passed away in 1984. Good choice of photo though! I have to agree with you that the 2 trees look very similar and equally fun to play on!

Tis a fine tree but I don't remember ever swinging on it. Maybe it's because a haunted house was nearby.
