The MOVE

So, we're in our new house--well, new to us. Not really so new at all. I have yet to take any pictures because it's still not all the way unpacked. I know, three weeks should be PLENTY of time, but it apparently is not. We've been quarantined because of some nasty cough/cold that went through the family with a vengeance.  I REALLY want to get the house perfect right now. Patience is not a virtue I overflow with...
So, we've had an abundance of snow-- here is a glimpse of one snowstorm's contribution to our backyard...

The weather might have something to do with  my sluggishness. It was -37 Celsius yesterday morning and the van's battery died. It is still dead. So, another bit of cash has to go to that, as well as the leaky toilet. We're cursed with leaky toilets...if you know anything about the history of our rental, you'll understand. However, bygones and all that. So, the toilet is leaky, the doors have no deadbolts, the curtains all have to be replaced due to animal fur (and the previous owners obviously did NOT know how to use a tape measure, for every curtain is either too narrow and too long, or too short and too narrow. Really, is it that hard to measure a window and then add another 3rd onto it?? But, I complain for naught. It is ours and we are happy. I'm excited to turn it into MINE, if you know what I mean.
We made gingersnaps yesterday to keep us occupied and rolled them in colored sugar crystals...Here is the uncooked cookie.

And here is Ockey just wanting his picture taken.

So, here are some ideas that I am working on, considering and wishfully working towards. I'm not sure which of these will actually work in our house but I love them all!!! Enjoy.

This first one-- it's the tile work in the back splash that is entrancing to me...I LOVE these little tiles...
Next, the bookshelves that conserve space. Easy peasy and sooo cute!
Here is a great thing to put on your pantry. Absolutely ingenious, hey?
Next, the bookshelf that calls to me--'build me-build me' I LOVE this thing.
And this is a wooden crate with the bottom removes and a little bit of fancy molding (is is moulding or molding?? you'd think I'd know since Dave's a cabinetmaker-- but I am don't). FABULOUS!!
Framed plates!! What else do I need to say?
And this is my ULTIMATE dream bookshelf. BEYOND the imagination--- Think of how many MORE books I would need to fill it up!!
Three towel bars on the back of the door--HANDY.
LOTS of cubbies and uniformity on this one-- something I lack--orderliness.
And who doesn't love glass-fronted cabinets? Divine. I love the whole cabinet here-- there is one I took a picture of a couple of years ago that I want Dave to make me that is similar to this...
More framed plates, with the added bonus of cutlery. Gorgeous.
And here is the wall-paperist's dream!! Samples randomly pasted. Not quite sure I LOVE this exact one, but the idea is TOTALLY worth noting...
And lastly, my FIRST crocheted rug. The colors are not really optimum, but it's still a good prayer rug and my knees are glad of it! My next one will be great, I'm sure of it!
And so, that is all I have to share right now, but I promise to get pictures of the house soon...
Have a happy Groundhog day tomorrow...I hope he sees his shadow. What hope that gives us all.
